NIWA paints your dog, your cat or your own face on Japanese porcelain, in sumi ink, ukiyo-e colour or cobalt blue, with their name brushed in katakana.

The two pieces

A planter and
a kinchaku vase

The planter is glossy white ceramic on a round bamboo saucer, 5.9" × 6.5" (15 × 16.5 cm), painted in sumi ink, ukiyo-e colour or sometsuke blue. The vase is a white ceramic pouch with a ruffled rim and a cream rope bow, 5" × 3" (13 x 7 cm), painted in a few strokes of sumi ink before a red sun. Each can carry the name in katakana and a hanko seal, red, or blue on sometsuke.

You design it yourself: upload a photo or describe it, pick a style, type the name, and see it painted in about a minute, free. Nothing is ordered until you approve it.

Choose a piece

The ink portrait planter or the kinchaku vase. On the planter, pick sumi ink, ukiyo-e colour or sometsuke blue.

Add your pet or your face

Upload one photo and type their name. We brush it in katakana with a red seal, and the preview paints itself.

Approve, then we fire it

Approve the design and add it to your bag. It is painted, kiln-fired and at your door in 18–25 days.

How we sell

NIWA sells through Tedooo. The design comes back from Tedooo’s design technology, the same engine behind every made-to-order piece on the marketplace, and Tedooo takes the payment and tracks the delivery. You approve the design; the piece is painted to order and shipped to you.

Painted to order and delivered in 18–25 days. Shipping and any duties are calculated at checkout, before you pay.

Returns & made-to-order

Each piece is painted for you from the design you approved, so it is not returnable. You can cancel or change your order within 3 hours from the link in your confirmation email. If it arrives damaged, send us photos of the piece and the box within 14 days of delivery and we make you a new one at no cost.
